Well what wonderful bank holiday weather we all had! The Scottish Kennel Club had its summer championship show at Edinburgh, greyhounds had classes but sadly only one entered. BOB was Kathy Spacey’s Inchydoney Memories North Star at Hallimanes. Whilst there Kathy decided to give ‘Mr Patapouf’ a go in the Good Citizens Bronze test, which he passed – well done! There are ten elements to this test, with the aim to produce a dog that will walk and behave in a controlled manner on the lead, will stay in one position on command and which allows its owner to clean, groom and inspect it, a dog that will walk and behave in happy natural manner under control on the lead. I was wondering, do you think there would be enough interest if the club decided to put on a good citizens test at one of the club open shows for people to have a go at? Let me know so I can gage interest and discuss with the committee at the next meeting in October. Kathy told me that she had only been practising with Mr P for a week before the show, so one well behaved hound!
Away from the greyhound ring Jerry Robertson and Liz McKnight were showing their new SFT puppies and both won their puppy classes with the male winning best puppy and best of breed – fabulous start for their careers!
I have been notified that on a thread on Facebook that there was a mention that the organising committee had turned down a speaker, I would like to say that this is categorically untrue, and indeed will embrace any suggestions. The speakers are in the process of being organised as we speak, and we would welcome any ideas for this very soon.
